Fleas are small, around 2 mm long and wingless. They have a flattened shape and are reddish brown in colour with legs designed for jumping.
The problems they cause:
Adult fleas live as parasites on warm-blooded animals such as humans, cats, birds and dogs. They feed on skin and feathers, and their bites can cause intense itching around a bright red spot.
