Stored product pest control for West Yorkshire
A variety of pests can infest food and stored products and may be introduced to your store accidentally via packaging or the ingredients themselves.
The most common are flour beetles, biscuit beetles and weevils. Flour Beetles are small, reddish-brown beetles about 3-4 mm long. They feed on flour and cereal debris in warm buildings. Weevils are very distinctive, thanks to their long, pointed snouts, which they use to bore into whole grains, hard, processed cereals and pasta.
Stored product pests breed and feed on grains, seeds and other stored products. They will damage and destroying food stocks rendering them unfit for consumption.
The problems they cause:
Once a product has been infested, the whole batch must be disposed of, which can cause great wastage.
