There are a wide variety of flies including blowflies, cluster flies, and of course the common housefly. As a family of winged polluters, they are too readily tolerated, without people realising or understanding the potential effects and the problems that they create.
The problems they cause:
Flies feed by vomiting saliva on food and then sucking it up. In doing this, they contaminate food, and the areas where they’ve landed, with bacteria from their gut and feet.
Flies can be responsible for transmitting food poisoning, dysentery, typhoid and cholera. They can also carry the eggs of parasitic worms.
Fly removal – how we treat them:
We use smoke-generated insecticide to eradicate cluster flies from lofts and confined spaces. Other control measures include insecticide spray and electronic fly killers.
